Culture Of Contact Episode 2wenty Twelve
| Played: 3143 | Download | Duration: 00:57:41
Hear author/experiencer Whitley Strieber as you've never heard him before. We explore his new book 2012: The War For Souls. It's a work of fiction...or is it? What might the fabled date have in store for us? Then we journey into Whitley's own past. If he had to do it all over again would he step forward with his abductions? Would he have written best-seller Communion knowing what he knows? The answer will shock you in this extremely candid, personal interview.
But first, you will meet Culture of Contact's resident reporter (and experiencer) Harold Egeln. Are these aliens really individuated beings, a trickster force, or a shamanic experience in disguise? We discuss it.
All that and much more on the Culture of Contact podcast.
Discuss this on our MESSAGE BOARD!

where's the show sheriff?

I know! Way to make bold claims and then back them up with ASS, right? So very sorry for the long delay. Too many technical problems combined with scheduling conflicts = this apology. But it's up and running now and I won't be running into this problem again.
Thanks for your patience.

Nice work, seriously. The only problem is the interview with Whitley was too short. I thought it was enlightening and the ideas expressed were just what I needed to hear right at this very moment. Syncronicity is strange and always surprising. Anyway, good job, and thanks!

This is the very best interview with Whitley Strieber I've ever heard. I agree with Joseph above, it was too short. Otherwise it was well done. Am I going to buy the book? I don't see how I can resist. I'm trying to resist but I'll probably be a subscriber to Whitley's web site.

Whitley is working for the wrong side.

Hey, love the podcast and was wondering how I could find this on iTunes to get into my ipod. Thanks.

You should be able to download it onto your iPod from here. Underneath the player is the download tab. If that doesn't work, you can get it from here:

I've been unable to get the downloaded file to play in anything I have.
The download (Q-time) is a strange .M4a type file. Even my quick-time player says "not a movie file" then pukes. The only way I can listen is via the embedded thingy above...
The frst half was a hit with the spice weasel and rocked... I'm going to mosey back up to hear the second half w/WS.

It is an MP4 not an MP3. Maybe that's the problem?

That "Satan" bit was stupid and totally unnecessary! Art Bell and George Noory are far funnier with "JC" and "Oscar" and nobody uses any foul language.

Sorry ya didn't like the "Satan" bit. Man, you're going to be super disappointed when that becomes a recurring character.
Yes, sometimes there's naughty language on the show. I do have an "explicit" warning on the episodes that do. I've not heard the Coast To Coast skits. So at least we won't be ripping each other off. That's good, right?

Still it went to a strange edge and didn't dive off, you know? ...Didn't cross. Moreover, it was funny... exacted _nervous_ laughter, showed a creation, changed the filter on the old intellectual machine, provided commentary, countered culture, and on one level spitting in the eye of the establishment and charging for eye-wash (special thanks to my good friend and ardent admirer Dave!) Always a good idea!
Full marks for the bit all by itself.

I appreciate this podcast; I know we will be writing about 2012 in some way for Winter and quite possibly reviewing Strieber's book. (yes, 2012: The War For Souls) even if it's not a "sequel"

Was there ever any joy in providing a more user-friendly sound-file for future progasms? [g].

Fuck the users.
Oh. Hey, everybody!
The problem is that I create the project in Garageband, which seems to give no alternative to exporting an MP4 file. So I tried to import that into Final Cut Pro to then convert it to an MP3. Wasn't having it. I tried to convert it using Quicktime. MP3?--never heard of it.
So next episode I'll experiment with alternative encodings and see if there's a substitute I can use. Unless someone out there in Internetia knows what I just wrote and has a solution.

To get it into iTunes, simply remove the ".mov" from the end of the filename, then doubleclick.
